In November 2010, Tanya Johannes passed away.

Her death was attributed to SUDEP, Sudden Unexpected Death

in Epilepsy, Tanya's Team was formed in her honor and memory.

Tanya's Team is an organization dedicated to:
- Raising awareness of Epilepsy
- Educating the public about SUDEP
  (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy)
- Fundraising for Epilepsy research

  and associated assistance organizations.
